AC Milan announced on their official website on Monday that the club have extended the contract of its Belgium international winger Alexis Saelemaekers.
According to AC Milan's official statement, Saelemaekers has signed on a new long-term five-year deal with the club which runs until the summer of 2031, officially taking effect on July 1, 2026.
About Alexis Saelemaekers
The 26-year-old Saelemaekers was born on June 27, 1999, in Berchem-Sainte-Agathe, Belgium. He is 1.80 meters tall and primarily plays as a right winger, but can also play as a right midfielder, right wing-back, left winger, left midfielder, or left wing-back.
Saelemaekers joined Anderlecht's youth academy at the age of 13 and completedr his Anderlecht first-team debut by coming on as a substitute in February 2018.
On the 2020 winter transfer window deadline day, Saelemaekers joined AC Milan on-loan with an option to buy, with his ownership rights being permanently bought out the following summer for €4.5 million.
Due to intense competition for places for midfield and forward positions, Saelemaekers was loaned-out to Bologna and Roma between 2023 and 2024. However, since returning this summer after his loan spell, he has once again become a key player for AC Milan.
Since joining I Rossoneri, Saelemaekers has made 159 appearances for AC Milan in all competitions so far, scoring 12 goals and providing 18 assists, winning the Serie A title once with the club.
