Al-Shabab officially signed Burnley captain Josh Brownhill and AC Milan defensive midfielder Yacine Adli..


Al-Shabab announced on its official X (Twitter) account on Wednesday that it had signed Burnley captain Josh Brownhill and AC Milan defensive midfielder Yacine Adli.


According to the Saudi Pro League powerhouse's official statement, Brownhill has signed on a short-term two-year deal with the club which will only run until the summer of 2027, while Adli has signed on a three-year contract with the club which runs until the summer of 2028.


In addition, according to Sky Sports' renowned Italian transfer journalist Fabrizio Romano, Al-Shabab paid AC Milan a €7 million transfer fee to sign Adli. Brownhill joined on a free transfer after rejecting Burnley's contract extension offer.


About Josh Brownhill


Josh Brownhill, 29, was born on December 19, 1995, in Warrington, England. He is 1.79 meters tall, he primarily plays as a center midfielder, but can also player as an attacking midfielder or defensive midfielder. He was once falsely claimed by the notoriously infamous  Malaysian online media outlet FR Future Talents to have Malaysian ancestry, but in fact has no such ancestry.


Brownhill played for Manchester United's youth academy when he was a child. In 2012, he moved to Preston North End's youth academy and completed his Preston first-team debut by coming on as a substitute in a EFL Trophy match in October of the following year.


During his time with the Lilywhites, Brownhill won the Goal of the Year Award from GOAL in 2013 by scoring a wondergoal.


In January 2016, Brownhill was loaned-out to Barnsley.


During his time at the Colliers, Brownhill won the EFL Trophy and the EFL League One promotion play-offs.


In the summer of the same year, Brownhill joined Bristol City as a free agent.


During his three-and-a-half-year spell with the Robins, Brownhill attracted the attention of many small and medium-sized Premier League clubs with his outstanding performances.


In January 2020, Brownhill moved to Burnley for £9 million.

During his five-and-a-half year spell with the Clarets, Brownhill made 211 appearances for the newly promoted Premier League side in all competitions, scoring 32 goals and providing 23 assists, as well as winning the EFL Championship once with the club.


About Yacine Adli


The 25-year-old Yacine Adli was born on July 29, 2000, in Vitry-sur-Seine, France, He is 1.86 meters tall and primarily plays as a defensive midfielder, though he can also play as a center midfielder or attacking midfielder. He holds dual French and Algerian citizenship.


Adli joined Paris Saint-Germain's youth academy at the age of 13, began playing for their B team in 2017, and completed his Paris Saint-Germain first-team debut as a substitute in the final Ligue 1 match against Caen in May 2018. This was his only appearance for the Paris Saint-Germain senior team.


On the following year's winter transfer window deadline day, Adli moved to Bordeaux for €5.5 million.


During his time there, he reached the Round of 16s of the Coupe de la Ligue once with the club.


In August 2021, Adli joined AC Milan for €8 million but was immediately loaned back to Bordeaux.


After returning from his loan spell the following summer, Adli initially failed to establish himself, only becoming a key player in I Rossoneri's firs- team in the summer of 2023.


Last August, Adli was loaned-out to Fiorentina.


Last season, during his loan spell with I Viola, Adli played 35 times for the Serie A powerhouse in all competitions, scoring 5 goals and providing 7 assists, and helped the club reach the UEFA Conference League semi-finals and the Coppa Italia round of 16s.
