The 2025/26 La Liga season will see the fourth round of action, with Sevilla hosting newly promoted Elche. Sevilla coach Almeida stated at a press conference that his team must move forward and called on the team to unite and overcome the difficulties.

Sevilla defeated Girona 2-0 in the last round of La Liga, thanks to goals from Alfonso González and Isaac Romero. Having ended their two-game losing streak, Sevilla currently sits 12th in the standings with three points.

"We've had a few good days of training and I'm getting to know the new players. Overall, everything has been very positive," said Almeida, who was appointed Sevilla coach in June. "We remain as ambitious as ever and hope to play a good game tomorrow. We've postponed training to a later date so that Suazo can also participate. In addition, Sevilla will face Elche, which is currently ranked 7th in the standings and defeated Levante 2-0 in the last round.

Almeida said, "This will be as difficult as any other game. Elche has excellent players in all positions, a complete tactical system, good teamwork, and strong threat. They are a strong team and this will be a big game for us."
