Arteta hopes Karafiori will be able to participate in the match against Wolves, as his recovery is progressing well.

Arsenal will kick off the 2025/26 Premier League season with their 31st match, traveling to Molineux Stadium to challenge Wolverhampton Wanderers. Mikel Arteta has stated that Calafiori has resumed training and hopes the defender will be available for this crucial game.

In the last round of the Premier League, Arsenal scored through Maduk, but conceded a goal later in the game, ultimately being held to a 1-1 draw by Brentford. After achieving 2 wins, 2 draws and 1 loss in the last 5 rounds, Arsenal currently continues to sit in first place in the standings with 57 points, 4 points ahead of 2nd-placed Manchester City.

However, in the earlier FA Cup fourth round match, Arsenal defeated Wigan Athletic 4-0 with goals from Maduk, Martinelli and Jesus, thus advancing to the round of 16.

As for Wolves, Rob Edwards' team remains in 20th place in the standings with 9 points.

When asked about the players' condition, Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta said, "Karapiori is fine and trained with us today. He's feeling much better now and hopefully can play tomorrow. Ben White is just a little tired; he expended a lot of energy in the game. He felt a bit tight in his hamstring at the end of the match, but it's nothing serious."

After the match against Wolves, Arsenal will turn their attention to the North London derby against Tottenham Hotspur.

Arteta said, "Odegaard is not yet fit for the game against Wolves, but we would love for him to be back with us. The same goes for Havertz, who may also be available, so we are looking forward to his return to the squad."

In addition, when asked about the frequent injuries to players during pre-match warm-ups, Arteta said, "Some situations are very different. The first was Saliba twisting his ankle against Liverpool, and then Calafiori had two similar incidents during warm-ups."

"Then there's Saka. He was rested midweek, so he didn't play against Keira, but then that accident happened against Leeds, which is very rare."

Arteta added, "In my six years as manager, similar situations may have only happened once or twice, but now it has happened four times, so we are investigating the reasons for this."
