RB Leipzig announced that it has renewed its contract with French center back El Bishiab one year ahead of schedule, with the contract extended to June 30, 2029.  

The 20-year-old joined the team from Paris Saint-Germain in the summer of 2023 and has since quickly grown into an important member of the defense. In the 2024-25 season, he played 28 games for the team, 19 of which were starts.  

Marcel Schäfer, general manager of the sports department, said: "We are very pleased to have completed the contract extension with El Bishiab ahead of schedule. He is currently one of the most promising defensive players in the Bundesliga."  

"He has shown significant improvement in all areas over the past season and this new contract is a perfect reward for his hard work and performance."  

"El Bishiab is a well-rounded modern centre-back. He is good at using his physical advantage, has excellent speed, and combines excellent footwork with precise and decisive defensive actions."
