Burnley midfielder Maybury is under investigation by the FA for allegedly spitting on North Korean fans.

Burnley midfielder Hannibal Maybury is embroiled in controversy after being accused of spitting at Leeds United fans during a Premier League match last month, and has been formally charged with misconduct by the Football Association (FA).

Currently, Maybury must respond to the allegations by November 28th, and the truth of the matter still needs further clarification. The incident occurred on October 18th during Burnley's home game against Leeds United.

Burnley won 2-0 that night, and Maybury came on as a substitute in the 83rd minute, officially joining the game late in the match. However, according to the FA and police investigation, the time he allegedly spat in the direction of the fans occurred about 16 minutes before he came on, while he was still warming up in the sideline area.

It has been reported that a supporter from the Leeds United away section filed a formal complaint with the police after the match, alleging that Majorbury made inappropriate gestures around the 67th minute. The police have launched an investigation and referred the matter to the FA Disciplinary Committee.

The Football Association stated in an official statement: "The player is accused of spitting toward or towards Leeds United fans around the 67th minute, which may be a breach of the rules of the game and the code of conduct."

This incident quickly drew public attention and damaged Maybury's professional image. Neither Burnley nor Leeds United have issued official comments yet, and the media has sought responses from both clubs.

Maybury joined Burnley from Manchester United in August for a transfer fee that could have reached £9.4 million, and was seen as one of the key moves in the team’s midfield development strategy.

So far this season, Maybury has made 50 appearances for Burnley in all competitions, contributing one goal. Although his overall statistics are not particularly impressive, his fighting spirit and execution on the pitch have been highly praised by the manager. However, this controversy has also prompted a re-evaluation of players' emotional management and professionalism.
