James Ward-Prowse scored his first goal of the 2024-25 campaign in an away win at Ipswich Town, putting a positive end to a campaign that has been full of ups and downs.  

The player made his debut for the Red and Blues in the 2023-24 season, playing 52 games in all competitions and scoring 7 goals. Last summer, he was loaned to Nottingham Forest before the transfer deadline, during which he made 10 appearances and returned to East London in early February of the following year.  

Although James Ward-Prowse has gone through a difficult time with the Reds, under the leadership of head coach Graham Potter, he gradually regained his form and confidence in the second half of the season, although the results were up and down. James Ward-Prowse started again and helped the team beat Ipswich 3-1, performing very well.  

After Jarrod Bowen passed the ball, he calmly shot from close range to break the deadlock with a confident smile on his face.  

After the game, James Ward-Prowse said: "It feels great to score a goal. This season has been full of ups and downs and challenges. Therefore, it is very exciting to end the game with a goal. The key today was that we showed the right state, so that the players who are about to leave can leave with a smile, and the fans who have always supported us can leave with joy."  

"We hope to leave with something to show for it and now I think we can enjoy the summer break and then be fully prepared for the challenges of next year."  

James Ward-Prowse opened the scoring just before half-time before Nathan Broadhead equalised for Ipswich early in the second half, with captain Bowen and Mohammed Kudus then scoring to give the visitors all three points.  

James Ward-Prowse said: "We knew this was obviously the last game of the season and the opponents would attack quickly, and we started well. In the middle of the first half, our performance was a little ups and downs, but I believe the team knew its goals and was committed to continuing to improve in the game. We worked hard to catch up with the opponents while maintaining confidence and finally performed well."  

"Sometimes we can win in a less pretty way, but today I felt we were in control of the game. They had chances and got some points back, but we have to stay professional."  

"Overall, I think the team performed well and achieved the expected goals. As I said, we need to maintain this state until the summer, regain a positive attitude and prepare for new challenges."
