Mainz announced on its official website on Sunday that the club has signed German forward Benedict Hollerbach and Austria U21s international defender Konstantin Schopp from Union Berlin and Sturm Graz respectively.

According to Mainz's official statement, both players have signed on a long-term four-year deal with the club until the summer of 2029. At the request of the three clubs, the media will not disclose the transfer fees of the two players.

After completing his joining procedures, Hollerbach, who was interviewed by Mainz's official website for the first time, said: "I am very happy to accept this new sporting challenge in Mainz. I am also very grateful for everyone's trust in me. I hope to repay them with everything I have."

"Mainz 05 has given me very clear sporting guidance, under which I can continue to develop my footballing potential and contribute to the team through my long-distance running and sprinting. I feel that I will fit in perfectly with my new team and look forward to the passionate and courageous football style here."

Schopp said: "I am very happy to have the opportunity to join Mainz. I had a very pleasant meeting with the management and they have clearly laid out a plan for how I can continue to develop."

About Benedict Hollerbach

Benedict Hollerbach, 24, was born on May 17, 2001 in Starnberg, Germany. He is 1.8 meters tall and primarily plays as a center forward, but can also play as a left or right winger.

Hollerbach joined the youth academy of his hometown's non-league club Tutzing since he was a child. He joined the 1860 Munich youth academy at the age of 9, and moved to its local arch-rivals, Bayern Munich's youth acdemy, at the age of 13. In 2019, he joined the Stuttgart youth academy, but was released the following year.

After leaving Stuttgart, Hollerbach joined Wehen Wiesbaden in September 2020 and completed his Wehen Wiesbaden first-team debut shortly afterwards.

In July 2023, Hollerbach moved to Union Berlin for €1 million.

During his two-year spell with Die Eisernen, Hollerbach played 65 times for the Bundesliga club in all competitions, scoring 14 goals and assisting 4 times.

About Konstantin Schopp

Konstantin Schopp, who is only 19, was born in Salzburg, Austria on December 30, 2005. He is 1.95 meters tall and primarily plays as a center back. He can also play as a defensive midfielder. His father, MarKus, is a former Sturm Graz legend.

At the age of 6, Schopp followed his father's footsteps and joined the Sturm Graz youth academy. In April 2023, he played for the reserve team and completed his Sturm Graz first-team debut by coming on as a substitute in a UEFA Champions League match against Sporting CP in October of the following year.

During his time with Die Schwoazn, Schopp played 9 times for Sturm Graz in all competitions, scored 3 goals, and won the Austrian Bundesliga once with the club.
