Matty Sifuentes admitted his team failed to perform to their potential against Blackburn Rovers, ultimately losing 0-2. Leicester City suffered their third defeat of the season and their third consecutive loss to the Lancashire side. Andre Gudjohnsen scored in each half to help Blackburn Rovers secure three points at the King Power Stadium.  

After the match, Leicester City manager Matty Sifuentes admitted that the team's performance was far below expectations. Just five minutes into the game, Stephen Mavididi scored a goal, but it was disallowed for offside by the linesman, missing a chance to take the lead. In the second half, the winger had another good shooting opportunity, but Balaz Tote made a brilliant save to deny him.  

Matti Sifuentes said: "This is not the performance we wanted to show. We had a corner kick early in the game, but then conceded a goal, which was very frustrating. Perhaps we improved in the last few minutes of the first half, but the second half was disappointing. Although we created some chances, we couldn't win the game if we didn't capitalize on them. Obviously, the overall performance in the second half was regrettable."  

"The goalkeeper deserves praise for his successful save of Stefan Mavididi's shot, but we can't rely on that alone. We need to do better, and if we don't score, we must focus on the next chance and work hard to find scoring opportunities."  

The head coach stated that the team needs a series of positive results to boost confidence and get back on track. Having won only one of their last nine games, now is a crucial time to turn things around.  

Matti Sifuentes added: "These players have much more potential than this, and I hope they can perform even better. Currently, their level is not yet up to par, and we need to ensure things improve so they can demonstrate the ability that matches the club's expectations."
