McNeill looks forward to the new season: looking forward to starting a new chapter in the new stadium

Everton are about to officially move to the brand new Hill Dickinson Stadium in the 2025-26 season. Winger Dwight McNeill expressed his recognition of coach David Moyes' ambitions and his full expectations for the future journey.

Looking back at the season that just ended, Everton showed strong momentum after Moyes' return. Since he won his first victory as coach on January 19, only three Premier League teams have earned more league points than Everton. In the end, the team not only successfully avoided the threat of relegation, but also stood firmly in the middle of the table with a 23-point advantage.

In an interview, McNeill said about Moyes' arrival: "The coach is very good. He has a clear vision and ambition for the direction of the club. This is why I want to be involved. He pushes us to improve every day, which is the standard that a top club should have."

Although he missed five months of the season due to a knee injury, McNeill still managed to score five goals and provide eight assists. He admitted: "This injury period was not only physically difficult, but also a huge test psychologically."

"You're with the team every day, but because of the different treatment arrangements, it's hard to really integrate into the daily routine. Watching the game but not being able to help in person, that feeling of being on the sidelines but not being in it is very torturous."

Now that McNeil has returned from injury, he has set his sights on the upcoming pre-season preparations and Everton's new home, a modern 52,888-seat stadium that symbolizes a new starting point for the club.

McNeill said of the new home: "It's really exciting. This is our new home and I can't wait to start the next chapter of the team there. I went there recently and was shocked by the South Stand at first sight.

"This is an important step forward for the club. We want to establish home advantage here as quickly as possible and make it truly our new 'home'."
