Brazilian club Gremio announced on Saturday that former Fulham winger Willian has signed on a free transfer. The two sides have signed a one-and-a-half-year contract, valid until December 31, 2026.

Willian, 37, graduated from Corinthians' youth academy and made his professional debut for the first team in the Brazilian league on November 1, 2006. He subsequently played for Shakhtar Donetsk, Anzhi, Chelsea, Arsenal, Corinthians, Fulham, and Olympiacos, playing 71 Champions League matches, 39 Europa League matches, 43 Brazilian league matches, 140 Ukrainian Premier League matches, 11 Russian Premier League matches, and 315 Premier League matches. He won one UEFA Cup, five Ukrainian Premier League titles, four Ukrainian Cups, two Ukrainian Super Cups, two Premier League titles, one FA Cup, and one League Cup with the team.

In February 2025, William returned to Fulham on a six-month contract. He made 12 appearances for Fulham but failed to score or assist.

As for the national team, Willian has made 70 appearances for Brazil since 2011, scoring nine goals and providing 15 assists. He has played for the team at two World Cups (2014 and 2018) and three Copa América tournaments (2015, 2016, and 2019), and was a member of the Brazilian national team that won the 2019 Copa América.
