Red Star Belgrade officially announced on Monday that former Inter Milan striker Marko Arnautovic has completed the transfer as a free agent. The two parties signed a two-year contract, which will expire on June 30, 2027.
"The signing of Arnautovic shows Red Star's ambitions for the new season," Red Star Belgrade said in a statement. "His rich experience in Europe's top arenas and his winning mentality will help further strengthen Red Star's overall image and team spirit both on and off the field."
The 36-year-old Arnautovic was born in Vienna, the capital of Austria, and started his professional career at Twente on April 14, 2007. He then moved to Inter Milan, Werder Bremen, Stoke City, West Ham United, Shanghai SIPG and Bologna, and followed Inter Milan to achieve the 2010 Treble as a marginal player.
In August 2023, Arnautovic returned to Inter Milan on a lease-to-buy basis. In the past two years, he has made 62 appearances for Inter Milan, scoring 14 goals and providing 5 assists, winning the Serie A title and the Italian Super Cup with the team.
After his contract expired this summer, Arnautovic parted ways with Inter Milan again. He had been linked with clubs in Rapid Vienna, Antalyaspor, Saudi Arabia, the United States, Russia and other places, but ultimately chose to join the team in his father's homeland.
According to official news, Arnautovic will wear the No. 89 jersey in the Serbian Super League next season.
