The Golden State Warriors officially announced on Saturday that Patrick Spencer's two-way contract has been converted to a standard contract. This marks Spencer's second consecutive year with a standard contract, and he will spend the remainder of the season with the Warriors.

Spencer, 29, is a 6'6" guard who weighs 93kg. He joined the Warriors in July 2022 on a two-way contract. He gradually established himself in the Warriors' rotation starting last season, playing a total of 39 regular season games, averaging 2.5 points, 1.2 rebounds, and 1.2 assists in 6.4 minutes per game.

Given Spencer's consistent performance during the regular season, the Warriors converted his contract to a standard offer for the first time last March. Spencer was thus able to play in the NBA playoffs, averaging 4.5 points, 1.4 rebounds, and 0.8 assists per game.

So far this season, Spencer has played 36 regular season games, averaging 5.8 points, 2.2 rebounds and 2.9 assists in 14.4 minutes per game, with his field goal percentage and three-point percentage rising to 42.3% and 43.1% respectively.

With Spencer's appointment as a permanent member of the roster, the Warriors now have only one spot remaining. According to reports from ESPN and other media outlets, they have set their sights on 28-year-old free agent point guard Lonzo Ball.

As the second overall pick in the 2017 NBA draft, Ball has played for the Los Angeles Lakers, New Orleans Pelicans, Chicago Bulls, and Cleveland Cavaliers throughout his career. Before being waived this season, he played 35 regular season games for the Cavaliers, averaging 4.6 points, 4.0 rebounds, 3.9 assists, and 1.3 steals in 20.8 minutes per game.
