The third round of the 2025/26 Premier League saw another highlight match. Manchester United, at Old Trafford, relied on goals from Mbeni and Bruno Fernandes to defeat newly promoted Burnley 3-2.

Two minutes into the match, Manchester United took the lead with a corner kick. Yoro headed the ball but Burnley goalkeeper Dubravka saved it. In the 63rd minute, Mbomo took a corner kick, and Bruno Fernandes' volley shot went wide of the post.

In the 66th minute, Esteve headed the ball to Lum Chauna, who volleyed it but was saved by Manchester United goalkeeper Bayender. Jaden Anthony then scored the rebound to help Burnley equalize the score at 2-2. In the 86th minute, Mbomo sent a cross and Sheshko jumped up to head the ball, but it went over the post.

In the second half, Diallo was pulled down by Jaden Anthony as he rushed forward to receive a pass from his teammate. After VAR intervention, the referee awarded Manchester United a penalty kick. Bruno Fernandes then scored from the penalty spot, helping Manchester United lead Burnley 3-2 again.
