RB Leipzig misses out on the German Cup; Ole Werner: We should have been more decisive when the opportunity presented itself.

RB Leipzig were eliminated from the German Cup quarterfinals this season, losing 0-2 to Bayern Munich after conceding two goals in the second half. Head coach Ole Werner stated that his team should have been more composed and decisive when given opportunities.

In the 62nd minute, Stanisic was brought down by Leipzig goalkeeper Van der Walter while dribbling forward, and the referee awarded Bayern Munich a penalty. Kane then converted the penalty, giving Bayern Munich a 1-0 lead.

In the 67th minute, Diaz received a diagonal pass from Olise and scored, helping Bayern Munich extend their lead to 2-0.

Ultimately, RB Leipzig lost 0-2 to Bundesliga leaders Bayern Munich at the Allianz Arena, failing to advance to the semi-finals.

RB Leipzig coach Ole Werner said, "After the game, I told the team that based on their performance, they could leave the pitch with their heads held high. Some details didn't go as we hoped, such as a few referee decisions. Bayern Munich deserved the victory because they took their chances, while we should have been more decisive in our chances. If we had scored first, the situation would have been very different."

RB Leipzig captain David Raum said, "If we wanted to beat Bayern Munich, many things had to go our way. All the details had to work out, and we also needed a bit of luck. Ultimately, both of our goals came from moments of lapse in concentration. Bayern Munich are extremely good at seizing opportunities, but we can leave with our heads held high, and I am still proud of the team."

Regarding his own shooting opportunities, David Raum said, "I was surprised that Neuer was able to raise his arm in time, because the ball deflected. His reaction is still incredible; if he had scored, the game would have been completely different. Similarly, if Baumgartner's goal hadn't been ruled offside, the situation would have been different. Against Bayern Munich, sometimes you really need luck."
