Ricardo Pereira admitted that the result was not as good as he expected, but he was pleased with the team spirit shown by the team.

Ricardo Pereira expressed a mixture of disappointment and relief after the team drew with Oxford United despite playing with a man down. After Will Lankhill's opener, the team fell behind early at the Kassam Stadium. Jordan Ayew equalized with his first goal of the season. New signing Aaron Ramsey was then sent off with a direct red card, leaving the team with a man over for the remaining 70 minutes. Just before halftime, Boubakary Soumare's own goal put the team ahead.

Ricardo Pereira scored after coming on as a second-half substitute. Although Leicester City had a chance to secure all three points despite being outnumbered, they ultimately had to settle for a draw. However, the point still puts them in fourth place in the Championship's early season standings.

After the game, Ricardo Pereira said: "Overall, it was difficult to persist for 60 to 70 minutes with one less player, especially when we conceded another goal before half-time. But the team tried their best. We knew that sometimes we had to defend firmly, maintain a tight position, and patiently wait for opportunities."

"It was important for us to get a point. Even though it wasn't the ideal outcome, at least we got the points. I thought we were quite successful in possession. It would have been more difficult to run without the ball for the whole 45 minutes, especially with one less player. Fortunately, we finally scored and got the point."

This goal in Oxford was Ricardo Pereira's second goal in recent times, having previously found the net in the 2-0 home win over Birmingham City. He was delighted to have contributed to the team's progress, emphasizing that it was the team's collaborative efforts that made the goal possible.

He said: "This goal shows the team's cooperation and requires multiple passes. We created space in the middle and then Abdul found me accurately. His positional choice was very good. I am very happy to be able to play and contribute to the team, especially in the past two or three weeks. This feeling is particularly special."

"When the team wins and things go well, everyone is happy and enjoys the process of the game. Next, we need to continue to accumulate experience and make continuous progress, because I think there are still many aspects that need to be improved. This is a sport that requires full investment. Sometimes you will reap the rewards in the end, and sometimes you may lose, and your mood will naturally be affected."

"Of course, this wasn't the victory we were looking for. But getting a point in a difficult match is still a positive thing, and we can see some positive things from it after the game."

With the arrival of new players, head coach Marty Cifuentes has more options in his lineup. Meanwhile, players like Bobby DeCordova-Reid and Victor Christiansen are actively recovering. Ricardo Pereira expressed his hope that the team can continue to achieve good results.

Ricardo Pereira said: "I'm happy to see the new players joining. Bobby made his debut of the season today. Victor is also about to return, which means the team will have more options in the long season. We have a lot of games coming up and every player will have the opportunity to play an important role and contribute to the team."

"We need to reconnect with the fans. It was nice to see them happy after the game, even though we didn't win, they still appreciated the draw and the performance."
