Sam Johnstone stated that one victory was enough to change the course of the game and boost the team's confidence.

Sam Johnstone says Wolves are on a positive trajectory since Rob Edwards took charge. He believes the team will be full of confidence when they host Nottingham Forest at Molineux on Thursday. While Wolves are still waiting for their first Premier League win of the season and their first victory under the new manager, Johnstone points out that the match against Crystal Palace, especially their performance at Villa Park last Sunday, proves the team still has the potential to turn things around.

This week, Nottingham Forest will travel to Molineux Stadium for a nighttime match. The goalkeeper believes his team has a good chance to secure three crucial points and get off to a good start to the new season.

Sam Johnstone said: "Although we played well in the game, we didn't get the desired result. There's still some disappointment in the dressing room because the team has seen progress, but the results haven't met expectations. It's frustrating, but we must stay confident and keep working hard. The head coach has only been in charge for a short time, and the training methods have also been adjusted. Everyone is adapting and bringing these changes into the game."

“We know that time is running out and we must make adjustments as soon as possible. However, the overall situation is improving. Despite the disappointment and setbacks the team still faces, we should be very proud to have achieved results in such a difficult away game.”

“We came to Villa Park, a team that has always been very competitive, and Martinez has done an excellent job. I contributed far less than half of what he did, so we should be proud of ourselves. On another match day, we might have won. However, we haven't been lucky, and the game hasn't gone as expected. But as long as we keep working hard, I believe things will improve.”

“Everyone at the club, including the fans, knows we need to make adjustments to turn things around. In that game, our performance improved significantly, and against Crystal Palace, we played quite well for the first 67 minutes, which shows the team’s progress.”

“We want to win the game as soon as possible so we can get back on track. Every game is crucial, so we must win quickly.”

"On the defensive end, every player is very clear about their responsibilities. The overall standards, including training standards and requirements around the training field, have been raised. We are currently facing a difficult situation and can no longer ignore seemingly small problems, because they may eventually develop into bigger problems. The coach requires the players to make progress in standards, mentality and defense, and also emphasizes that everyone must supervise and encourage each other."

“When you ask your teammates to do something, it’s not about the individual. Football is a very tough game, and we have to motivate each other and play our best, and the coach is pushing that too. To be fair, when we’re on the pitch, we need to play like we did on Sunday, fighting for each other and supporting one another.”

“Every game is crucial right now, whether at home or away, we need to win as soon as possible. We also need the support of our fans, especially at home, because the Molineux Stadium is almost impenetrable with their cheers, and their support is vital to us.”

“Whether at home or away, we have to start winning. I understand that this is frustrating for the fans, and the players, staff, and I feel it too. But as I’ve emphasized many times, we must stay united and face the challenges together.”

“I’m not saying we’ll win every game; games can have ups and downs. However, we just need one win to get things going, boost our confidence, and convince us that the team has great players and the ability to win.”
