RB Leipzig reporter Yvonne Gabriel recently wrote an article in Bild specifically discussing Timo Werner's transfer situation. According to her, Werner is currently considering joining Inter Miami.

Sky Sports Germany also reported earlier this month that Werner has decided to leave RB Leipzig in the winter transfer window. He sees Major League Soccer (MLS) as his next destination, and negotiations are underway.

Although Werner's current contract runs until 2026, he has only made one appearance for RB Leipzig this season. Given his current competitive situation, seeking a transfer has become a realistic option for Werner.

Timo Werner, 29, came through the Stuttgart youth academy and joined Chelsea from RB Leipzig in July 2020. During his two years at Chelsea, he made 89 appearances, scoring 23 goals and providing 21 assists, winning the Champions League, Club World Cup, and UEFA Super Cup with the team.

In August 2022, Werner returned to Leipzig for €20 million. To date, he has made 214 appearances for Leipzig, contributing 113 goals and 47 assists, and winning the German Cup and the German Super Cup with the team.

Gabriel further pointed out that joining Inter Miami offers Werner multiple advantages. From a timing perspective, the new MLS season kicks off next February, and a winter transfer would allow him to quickly integrate into the new team, while also preventing him from being put at a disadvantage in the European transfer market next summer.

Timo Werner earns approximately $11.6 million annually at RB Leipzig, meaning he is fully eligible to join Inter Miami as a designated player. Given the confirmed retirements of Jordi Alba and Sergio Busquets, Inter Miami is also expected to free up salary cap space and player slots by 2026, paving the way for Werner's acquisition.
