Tottenham Hotspur will travel to the Madejski Stadium to take on Reading in a pre-season friendly, with new manager Thomas Frank taking charge of the Lilywhites for the first time.

In the 2024/25 Premier League season, Tottenham Hotspur ranked only 17th after many difficult challenges, which was a very unsatisfactory result, but they qualified for the Champions League by winning the Europa League.

Thomas Frank took over as Tottenham Hotspur manager last month following the departure of Postecoglou.

"We have to be strong in both penalty areas to achieve something. That includes pressing in the midfield and attacking to win the ball back. That's what we try to convey and the message is huge."

In addition, when talking about the team's leaders Son Heung-min and Romero, Thomas Frank said, "They are both top players. Son Heung-min has played here for 10 years and finally won the trophy he deserves."

"Romero won the World Cup and two Copa Americas, and these two players are very important for us. They performed well in training and set an example. They will both play in this game and I am very satisfied with that."
