Eddie Howe says Willock's injury is not serious

Newcastle United will travel to the Seoul World Cup Stadium for a friendly against Tottenham Hotspur, and manager Eddie Howe said Willock's injury was not as serious as initially feared, but the midfielder still needs at least four weeks to recover.

In the last friendly match against the K-League All-Stars team, the 25-year-old Willock suddenly left the field due to injury.

Newcastle manager Eddie Howe said: "We were worried at first that he had injured his Achilles tendon, but fortunately that was not the case. It now looks like there is a problem with the calf muscle. So we think the injury is not as serious as we initially thought, which is good news for Willock."

"But he still needs to miss a few weeks. We are not sure how long it will be, but the initial diagnosis is four to six weeks. Although this is a big blow, it is much better than the initial concerns. This is positive news for Willock."

In addition, Tottenham Hotspur captain Son Heung-min said at a press conference that he would leave Tottenham Hotspur, where he had played for many years.

Eddie Howe said, "This is a clash between two Premier League teams, so it will be an exciting game. I think Son Heung-min is one of the legends of the Premier League. I played against him many times when I was coaching Bournemouth. I thought he was very good at that time. He is very fast, has good dribbling ability and always wants to score goals. I also think he is one of the best players we have played against every year."

"The biggest test of a player is consistency and longevity, and he's been able to do that season after season. I haven't worked with him but he's a fantastic professional and a fantastic person. So to be able to be part of what could be his final game for Tottenham Hotspur is a great moment for us and hopefully it will be a memorable one."
