Borussia Dortmund announced on its official website on Wednesday that the club has bought out the rights of on-loan Sweden international defender Daniel Svensson from Nordsjælland.

According to Dortmund's official statement, Svensson has signed on a long-term four-year deal with the club which runs until the summer of 2029.

After completing his joining procedures, Svensson, who was interviewed by Dortmund's official website again, said: "I was warmly welcomed here and quickly integrated into the team. I am very happy to continue playing for Borussia Dortmund in the future. This is a great club with great fans. My goal is that we can celebrate victory together here. I will work hard every day to achieve this goal."

About Daniel Svensson

Svensson, who is only 23 years old, was born in Stockholm, the capital of Sweden, on February 12, 2002. He is 1.83 meters tall and primarily plays as a left-wing back. He can also play as a left midfielder or defensive midfielder.

Svensson played for the Brommapojkarna youth academy when he was a child, and completed his Brommapojkarna first-team debut in June 2020.

In July of the same year, Svensson joined Nordsjælland for €25,000.

During his four-and-a-half-year spell with the Danish Superliga club, Svensson quickly became known as one of the wonderkids in Nordic football with his outstanding performances.

On the 2025 winter transfer window deadline day, Svensson joined Dortmund on-loan with an option to buy.

So far this season, Svensson has played 15 times for the Bundesliga giants in all competitions, scoring 1 goal and providing 2 assists.
