Hoffenheim announced on Thursday that it had renewed its contract with center back Arthur Chavez. As usual, the length of the contract and specific details were not disclosed.
The 24-year-old Artur Chavez was born in Florianópolis, Brazil, and made his first-team debut for his parent club Avai in the Santa Catarina State Championship on April 4, 2021. He then moved to the Portuguese second division powerhouse Viseu Academy, contributing 4 goals in 58 games in all competitions.
In August 2024, Chavez joined Hoffenheim from the Viseu Academy for 2.4 million euros. To date, he has made 34 appearances for Hoffenheim and scored 2 goals.
Regarding Chavez's contract extension, Hoffenheim Sports Director Andreas Schickel commented: "Arthur has not only established himself in the Bundesliga, but also impressed with his continued and stable performance in the Europa League. We are very pleased that he has expressed his recognition of the club's development path by renewing his contract in advance and has chosen to continue his career at Hoffenheim.
"We firmly believe that Arthur's growth journey is far from over and he still has great potential. Together we will achieve success," Hickel concluded.
Chavez said: "I am very happy to have signed a long-term contract with Hoffenheim. Hoffenheim gave me a chance last summer to prove myself in one of the top five European leagues. For this, I am very grateful to the club and its relevant persons in charge. I firmly believe that we have embarked on the right path in Hoffenheim, so I am full of confidence in our common future."
