Belgian star De Bruyne joined Serie A champions Napoli in June and was subsequently arranged to wear the retired No. 10 jersey for training. De Bruyne felt very honored because the No. 10 jersey was the jersey number of the late Argentine legend Maradona when he played for Napoli and it has been retired.

De Bruyne, 34, previously played for a Premier League giant and during his 10 years at Manchester City he won six Premier League titles, two FA Cups, five League Cups and one Champions League with the "Blue Moon".

Talking about being arranged to wear the No. 10 jersey for training, De Bruyne shared, "I was a little surprised at first because I knew that this number had been retired. But from another perspective, it is also an honor."

"This is the trust and respect that the team and the club have for me, but I don't think it will add extra pressure. When you play for Napoli, there will naturally be pressure. This is a team that wants to win, so as a player and the club, you should know what responsibilities you must take."

De Bruyne continued, "I don't think a number and other things will add pressure. Maradona is a legend in football history and is synonymous with Napoli, and everyone knows this. But I am very grateful and proud of it, but I am always myself."
