Augsburg officially announced on Friday that Finn Dahmen's contract has been automatically extended for one year. Due to the number of appearances he has reached, he will continue to play for Augsburg until June 30, 2027.
Finn Dahmen, 27, was born in Wiesbaden, Germany, and mainly plays as a goalkeeper. He grew up in the Mainz 05 youth training system and made his debut in the Bundesliga for the first team on January 3, 2021.
In July 2023, Damen joined Augsburg as a free agent. So far, he has made 50 appearances for Augsburg and kept 13 clean sheets.
This season is Damen's second season with Augsburg, and he has kept 10 clean sheets in 18 games. In the contract extension statement, Damen said: "I am very happy that my contract has been extended for one year. I am very satisfied with my current position and status, and I am full of expectations for the future. My goal is to continuously improve myself and achieve greater success with Augsburg."
Augsburg sporting director Marinko Jurentić added: "Finn has established himself at a high level in the Bundesliga this season with convincing performances. His consistently outstanding performances have played a key role in the team's defensive solidity and success this season. We are therefore very pleased that his contract has been automatically extended and that Finn will remain an important member of our team."
