Bologna has extended Jens Odegaard's contract until 2029, with an option to extend for another year.

Bologna announced on Monday that they have renewed the contract of Jens Odegaard. The new contract extends the term from 2027 to June 30, 2029, with an option for a further one year.

Ødegaard, 26, was born in Hillerle, a suburb of Copenhagen. He made his first-team debut for Llöw in the Danish Cup on October 28, 2015. He subsequently played for Inter Milan's youth team, Sassuolo, Heerenveen, Lugano, Pescara, Waalwijk, and AZ Alkmaar, before joining Bologna on loan with an option to buy in February 2024.

As a versatile midfielder, Ødegaard primarily plays as an attacking midfielder for Bologna, but can also play as a right winger, center forward, and other positions. To date, he has made 78 appearances for Bologna, scoring 14 goals and providing 7 assists, winning an Italian Cup with the team.

For Bologna, retaining Martin Ødegaard is a crucial step in maintaining squad stability. Their next contract extension targets are 29-year-old Italian right winger Ricardo Orsolini, 27-year-old Colombian center-back Johan Lucoumi, and 33-year-old Swiss midfielder Remo Freuler – of the three, only Freuler's contract has entered its final six months, while Orsolini and Lucoumi's current contracts both extend until June 2027.
