Champions League – Maduk scores twice as Arsenal defeat Club Brugge 3-0


The 6th round of the 2025/26 UEFA Champions League continued with a key match, with Arsenal, playing away, defeating Club Brugge 3-0 thanks to goals from Maduk and Martinelli.


Four minutes into the match, Arsenal launched an attack. Ødegaard received the ball and fired a long-range shot from near the edge of the penalty area, but Club Brugge goalkeeper Van den Hevel immediately made a diving save. In the 11th minute, Arsenal striker Maduk appeared to be injured, but continued playing after receiving treatment.


In the 21st minute, Arsenal executed a passing sequence, with Lewis Skelly unleashing a long-range shot from the edge of the penalty area. Incapie's follow-up shot inside the box hit the post. A minute later, Martinelli chipped a pass from the left into the box, where Dzekeresh headed the ball, but it went wide of the post.


In the 25th minute, Martin Zuweimendi passed the ball to Maduk, who then broke through the defense and fired a long-range shot from outside the penalty area, giving Arsenal a 1-0 lead. In the 56th minute, Lewis Skelly passed the ball to Martinelli, who broke through the defense and fired a long-range shot from near the edge of the penalty area to extend Arsenal's lead to 3-0. In the 68th minute, Ben White stepped on Zolis's foot and was shown a yellow card by the referee.


In the 78th minute, Arsenal created an attacking opportunity, with Jesus receiving the ball in the penalty area and curling a shot, but the ball hit the post. In the 82nd minute, Arsenal substituted 16-year-old Mali Salmon for Ben White.


In the second half stoppage time, Saka received the ball and took a long shot from the edge of the penalty area, but the ball was blocked by Club Brugge goalkeeper Van den Hevel. Then Envaneri received a cross from his teammate and shot, but it was also saved by Van den Hevel.


Arsenal ultimately secured a resounding 3-0 away victory against Club Brugge, moving into first place in the league standings with 18 points.
