The 23-year-old Inkapiye has officially joined Premier League giants Arsenal on loan from Leverkusen. The defender said in an interview that he hopes to leave his mark at Arsenal and is eager to help the Gunners win the championship.
In the 2024/25 Bundesliga season, Inkapiye played 32 games for Leverkusen, contributing two goals and two assists. In addition, Inkapiye also won one Bundesliga title, one German Cup title and one German Super Cup title with Leverkusen.
In the interview, Incapiye said, "I want to integrate with my new teammates as quickly as possible and spend a successful season together. I hope to win trophies for this club, make my name, and leave a mark. I want to get off to a good start as soon as possible, this is the most important thing."
In addition, while playing for Leverkusen, Inkapiye also chatted with Xhaka, who had played for Arsenal, about Arsenal.
"We police officers chat, but not necessarily about Arsenal," Incapiye shared. "However, I did ask him about Arsenal once and what it was like for him to be there. He spoke very highly of the club and shared his thoughts on his time there."
"I enjoyed the conversation we had previously, even though it wasn't recent. He did send me a message recently and he was full of praise for the club.
On the other hand, Arsenal is currently ranked third in the Premier League standings. In the next round of matches, they will host Nottingham Forest at home and will then face the challenge of the Champions League.
"I think I can bring a lot of courage, and I will do my part seriously and show the same strength I have in the past," Incapie continued.
"My best position is center back. I've played full back a lot, but I think my best position is center back. As for my characteristics, I'm very fast and like to carry the ball forward. I can also take on leadership responsibilities on the field."
