Jamoldin Jimo Aloba scored a brilliant winning goal in his European debut, helping Aston Villa come from behind to defeat Red Bull Salzburg 3-2. After the match, the 19-year-old expressed his pride in his performance. In the 87th minute, he received a low cross from fellow academy graduate Cardan Young and slotted the ball home to seal the victory for his team.  

The young player made his first-team debut for Aston Villa in September 2024, and this match marked his sixth appearance in the red and blue jersey. Aloba chose the perfect moment to score his first professional goal, as his mother was sitting in the stands at Villa Park, as he slotted the ball past the Holt Stand.  

Jamoldin Jimo-Aloba said: "This is my first appearance in European competition, and I feel incredibly proud. I'm very happy that my family can be proud of me through all the hard work. This season has had its ups and downs, and today's performance was my peak moment."  

The away team, with goals from Karim Konaté and Moussa Yeo, initially put Aston Villa down 0-2. However, in the 64th minute, Morgan Rodgers scored for Aston Villa, giving the team hope. Shortly after, Tyrone Mings equalized with a header, putting the game into a tense and exciting phase.  

Jamoldin Jimo Aloba's winning goal sealed a perfect end for Unai Emery's team, who staged a memorable comeback to finish second in the UEFA Europa League standings.
