Before the last home game of the season, Sevilla head coach Joaquín Caparrós spoke publicly to the media about the team's preparations for the match against Real Madrid in the 37th round of La Liga.  

Reflecting on the important win over Las Palmas, Joaquín Caparros said there has been a noticeable change in the mood of the team. “We’ve approached things differently this week, we were nervous before and were looking forward to that win to keep us safe. Now, the players are more relaxed in training and the atmosphere is more positive.”  

"A few days ago, someone called from overseas to ask about the atmosphere at the match. I can only express my deep gratitude. The fans are the source of our motivation. They are the soul of the club."  

"We hope to put in a great performance against Real Madrid, whose coach is a global role model for young and experienced coaches alike and embodies the true spirit of this club. Real Madrid have the genes to win and they know they have to give their all in every match. We also hope to make our fans proud, put in a great performance and end the game with a smile on our face."  

Joaquín Caparrós also stressed the growing importance of academy players in the first team, saying: "Young players have played a key role this season. For example, Juanlu, Carmona, Quique Salas, Isaac and Ramon have all shown excellent quality in the game."  

"Sevilla has developed world-class champions. I have full confidence in the young players in the youth system and believe that they will soon be able to enter the first team and play a bigger role. When they have talent, we must give them opportunities."  

"Finally, I want you to remember me as a Sevilla native who has given my all to the club's badge. Every time I step into the Ramón Sánchez Pizjuán stadium, it feels special and I am lucky to be able to coach the team I love so much."
