Malaysian Chinese newspaper Sin Chew Daily SLAMMED BY Fabrizio Romano and Ben Jacobs AGAIN for fabricating fake news claiming that Tottenham Hotspur captain Son Heung-min is joining Fenerbahçe..

Malaysian Chinese newspaper Sin Chew Daily was once again slammed by Sky Sportsrenowned Italian transfer journalist Fabrizio Romano and American media outlet CBS Sportsresident renowned transfer journalist Ben Jacobs, in a joint column on Thursday for fabricating a fake news which falsely claimed that Tottenham Hotspur and the South Korean national team captain Son Heung-min, would be joining Fenerbahçe.

Romano and Jacobs both heavily criticized in their columns that the things described in the report were totally fictitious, and criticized Sin Chew Daily for its despicable method of publishing fake news for no reason every few months.

Romano hit out that: "I have been receiving private messages from Malaysian fans in the past few days asking me whether Son Heung-min is really going to leave Tottenham Hotspur and whether he is going to move to Fenerbahçe. I felt very puzzled until I saw some British media outlets  (our website's "Daily Slap in the Face Party" regular representatives), the UK's infamously notorious British media outlets Mirror and The Sun)."

"First of all, I want to say that no, this is not true at all. As far as I know, the club that really intends to sign the Korean star is from the Saudi Pro League. I can confirm that the Saudi club is very interested in him. They have even established a very good relationship with the player's agent. However, Spurs has not received any offer so far. "

"Son Heung-min has not yet had a meeting with new manager Thomas Frank about his willingness to stay in the team. He must talk to Thomas after returning from vacation. Only then we can know what his intention is. "

"Thanks to the Malaysian fans for translating for me. I have read the original report saying that the player's influence in the team has "significantly declined". All this is nonsense! "

"Spurs has always trusted Son Heung-min very much. Yes, new players have joined in the process (Mathys Tel) ”

“The journalist who can write such a report is obviously the kind of person I have criticized many times, the kind of person who deliberately fabricates the rumour that “Son Heung-min’s position is not secure” just because “Tel’s ownership has been bought out”!”

“Besides, José Mourinho has also worked with him, so Fenerbahçe naturally became the club used to spread rumours!”

“We also saw this situation from the rumours about Cristiano Ronaldo not long ago!”

Ben Jacobs also criticized that: “Fabrizio also let me read everyone’s translation. Thanks to all our Malaysian friends, I found that the things reported in it are really outrageous.”

“Not only is there news that Son Heung-min will join the Turkish Süper Lig giants, they also spread the news about Raphinha!”

“No! Manchester United never planned to spend £127 million to sign Raphinha this summer. It is well known that the Red Devils' profits and budgets will be greatly reduced next season due to the failure to qualify for European competitions."

"What's more, the risk of violating the Profit and Sustainability Rules (PSR) is still very high, so Manchester United will never decide to spend so much money on signings so easily!"

"Another point is that Barcelona has just renewed a long-term contract with Raphinha and increased its release clause to 1 billion."

"From this point of view, the La Liga champions obviously have no intention of letting their captain leave the club in the near future!"

"It is very obvious that the person who wrote this original article was inspired by the fact that the Red Devils recently spent £60 million to sign Matheus Cunha from Wolves has inspired them to deliberately fabricate this completely wrong fake news!"

"I heard that they have made such problems several times before. We are really disappointed that there are such media outlets' journalists in Malaysia who like to spread a series of sensational fake news every few months to mislead fans!"

Upon verification, this fake news was indeed first published by Sin Chew Daily on June 17 before being reposted by The Mirror and The Sun. No wonder the reaction of Malaysian Chinese fans is so intense!

It is worth mentioning that Romano and Jacobs are actually right. Although Sin Chew Daily is one of the most authoritative and largest Chinese newspapers in Malaysia, it is also famous for its love of sensationalism and spreading fake news. Some Malaysian netizens even nicknamed it "炒洲日本" or "炒作日报"!

Two years ago, I also exposed that Sin Chew Daily was severely criticized by Romano for falsely claiming that Japanese international winger Kaoru Mitoma had completed a contract renewal with Brighton, causing Barcelona to be "heartbroken" and that four Manchester United players Lisandro Martinez, Victor Lindelof, Scott McTominay and captain Bruno Fernandes "fought" after the club lost 1-3 to Brighton on this website!
