Liam Delap signed for Chelsea in June and expressed his desire to compete for glory. Less than two months later, that goal has been achieved. In the past six weeks, he has quickly integrated into the team. After a short training session with his new teammates at the Cobham training base, he traveled to the United States with the team to participate in and win the Club World Cup.  

He made his debut in the opening match against Los Angeles FC, assisting the team's second goal with a precise cross, and then contributed a wonderful goal in the group match against ES Tunisia to ensure the team's early qualification for the knockout stage.  

Liam Delap played in all of Chelsea's games in the FIFA Club World Cup, except for the semi-final, which he missed due to suspension. Although he played actively in the final against Paris Saint-Germain, he failed to score, with both of his shots being well saved by Donnarumma.

In the final against Paris Saint-Germain, Liam Delap got the chance to start as a substitute and watched the team take a three-goal lead in the first half.  

Cole Palmer and Liam Delap have known each other for many years since their time at Manchester City's youth academy. In this game, he broke the deadlock for the team first, then scored twice after half an hour and assisted Joao Pedro to score the third goal. His performance was comprehensive.  

Liam Delap came on as a substitute in the second half and took advantage of the PSG defence's sluggish performance to successfully break through the opposition defence and create threats. As mentioned earlier, his many shots were saved by Donnarumma and he failed to score.  

The winger continued: “Before the game, there were a lot of rumors about PSG being the favourites, but we kept our faith and belief. We knew that as long as we followed our game plan, we would win, and we proved it with our performance.”

Liam Delap, like his teammates, will now enjoy a valuable rest period to relax and prepare for the upcoming 2025-26 season, which will be his first Chelsea game. Although he has become a world champion, Liam Delap's ambitions remain as firm as when he joined Chelsea. "
