Steven Gerrard officially denied rumours claiming that he is in talks with Rangers over managerial return..

Sky Sports' renowned female Liverpool team correspondent Melissa Reddy exclusively reported on Tuesday that former Liverpool and England legendary captain Steven Gerrard has officially denied he is in talks with Rangers about a possible managerial return.

According to Reddy, Gerrard is content with his current life and prefers to spend more time with his family and focus on his work as Liverpool's ambassador for the Middle East and Asia.

Gerrard also added that after the failure of his time at Aston Villa and Al-Ettifaq, he needs time to process and believes the time is not right for a managerial return.

Furthermore, as he and his family currently live in Bahrain, the Premier League champions' former leading figure is unable to make a hasty decision to return due to tax issues with the UK and the country, but he would consider future opportunities if they present themselves.

Reddy also added that Rangers have approached several coaches.

Among them, young German head coach Danny Röhl has left a very positive impression on management during his interview.

Currently, the former Sheffield Wednesday manager is considered the most likely candidate to become the club's new manager.

If an agreement with Röhl fails, another potential target is the naturalized former Australian international defender Kevin Muscat who had won the Treble with the club.

Rangers management is reportedly very pleased with the Shanghai Port manager's impressive coaching record in Asia.

Some board members even believe he could replicate the success achieved by current Nottingham Forest manager Ange Postecoglou at their arch-rivals, Celtic.

Regardless, until a new manager is appointed, Rangers will have their U21s team coaches temporarily managing the first team.

Last Friday (October 5), Rangers announced that former manager Russell Martin had been sacked due to poor results.

After seven matches, Rangers have only managed one win, five draws, and one loss, placing them eighth in the Scottish Premiership table with eight points.

Martin's performance is even worse than that of former Lyon manager Paul Le Guen during the same period in the 2006/07 season.
