Arne Sloter responds to starting lineup changes

Liverpool manager Arne Slaughter denied he was fighting for his future by rotating his squad during their 3-1 defeat to Chelsea.
After the big win over Tottenham a week ago and the early crowning of the Premier League champion, Sloter made six changes to the starting lineup, among which Endo and Harvey Elliott made their first start of the season. However, the two failed to deliver a convincing performance at Stamford Bridge and were both replaced in the 70th minute; and another focus of the starting changes, Jota, had only 13 touches in 60 minutes on the field, continuing his poor form this season-so far he has only scored three goals in the league.
When asked whether he took this opportunity to examine the squad and prepare for the new season, Sloter responded: "They deserve to play in such a game because they have been training very hard throughout the season. They performed well in every training session, so I think they deserve to play."
"It's already been a big summer because we renewed Van Dijk and Salah, and for most of the season, people didn't think we would be able to do that. So keeping them is huge for us," Sloter said.
"I've already said that I'm happy with the squad at the moment. Of course, we'll see what the summer transfer market brings and sometimes it's good to bring in some fresh blood. For now, it's been a very successful summer and we won the league. We'll only consider moving if there are players on the market who can really improve our quality."
