Arteta believes Arsenal can perform even better after keeping eight clean sheets in eight consecutive matches.

Arsenal defeated Slavia Prague 3-0 in the fourth round of the 2025/26 UEFA Champions League, thanks to a penalty from Saka and a brace from Merino, extending their winning streak to eight matches across all competitions. However, Arteta stated that he believes the Gunners can improve even further in the future.

In the 30th minute, Slavia Prague midfielder Provod made contact with the ball while clearing it, awarding Arsenal a penalty. Saka then converted the penalty, giving Arsenal a 1-0 lead.

At the start of the second half, Trossard chipped a pass to Merino, who tapped the ball into the net, giving Arsenal a 2-0 lead over Slavia Prague. In the 68th minute, Rice chipped a pass to Merino, who, despite the goalkeeper's presence, headed the ball into the empty net, extending Arsenal's lead to 3-0.

Arsenal ultimately secured a comfortable 3-0 away victory against Slavia Prague, extending their clean sheet streak to eight games. With this fourth consecutive win, Arsenal currently sit second in the league table with 12 points.

Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta said in an interview, "We want more, the team can still improve and do better. That's the right mentality. We are happy with our current performance, but I am not satisfied at all. We can play better and defend better."

"It was really tough to play against them, but I'm happy with many things, including the fact that we were able to win consecutive Champions League matches without conceding a goal, especially in such a difficult away game. We discussed managing our emotions and not getting frustrated by the pace of the game, because we eventually got our chances. Based on their formation, we can say it was another very impressive performance."

It is worth mentioning that Arsenal midfielder Dawman, who came on as a substitute, became the youngest player to appear in the Champions League at the age of 15.

Arteta said, "I only found out about this later, but it didn't surprise me. What I really like is the way he plays. He comes on and immediately receives the ball and stretches the opponent's formation, and he even wins free kicks. Age doesn't matter. What matters most is having the attitude and courage to play on this stage, and I'm really happy for him."

“Of course, we are very happy to see him make his debut, as are Harriman Anus, and we are also very pleased that he has maintained his performance after bringing on these players.”
