Arteta encourages players to show their best in the fight for Champions League final

The second leg of the 2024/25 UEFA Champions League semi-final will be another highlight, with Arsenal heading to the Parc des Princes to challenge French Ligue 1 champions Paris Saint-Germain. Arteta said they came here to make history and encouraged the players to show their best.

In the first leg of the semi-final, Arsenal lost to Paris Saint-Germain 0-1 after Dembele scored a goal at the Emirates Stadium. It is worth mentioning that Liverpool had successfully secured the Premier League title earlier, so the only goal Arsenal can strive for is the Champions League title.

Arsenal coach Arteta said, "We are full of passion and fighting spirit. As long as we win one more game, we will be able to stand on the stage of the Champions League final, and our opponent is a great team. The venue is one of the most beautiful cities in the world. This opportunity is rare. We are here to make history, and tomorrow we have a great opportunity. We came here with a clear goal, which is to win the game and advance to the final."

"We can't ask for more. Now is not the time for empty words, but for tomorrow's game to start, to speak on the pitch with our performances, to show our best and to win."

Arteta stressed, “I believe that when we have to achieve our goals, we can often complete the task in a convincing way, even if the opponent is very strong. The most recent one was in Madrid. When everyone was talking about Real Madrid's reversal of the opponent's history, we broke their expectations with actual performance, and we will do it again tomorrow.”

"That's how football works, players are remembered for these crucial moments. When the team needs players to step up and contribute to the wonderful moments, this is the mentality to play football. This kind of game is the best opportunity, and this is what we have worked hard for in the past few hours."

When talking about the goal of winning the championship, Arteta shared, "We will work hard to achieve our goal this season. Winning the championship is not only about strength, but also about being in the right place at the right time. Liverpool won the league championship with fewer points than we did in the past two seasons. If we had the points we had in the past two seasons, we could have won two Premier League titles."

"So it's all about seizing the right moment and hopefully tomorrow in Paris we'll be in the right place at the right time to get a chance to reach the final."
