The summer transfer window has closed and Barcelona has officially confirmed the jersey number allocation for the first team in the 2025-26 season.
There are several noteworthy changes this season. In goal, Yoan García took over the number 13 jersey previously worn by Ignacio Pena. In defense, Pau Cuarci inherited the number 5 jersey left by Inigo Martínez.
The biggest highlight on the offensive end is undoubtedly Lamine Yamal, the talented youngster who switched from No. 19 to No. 10, the number that symbolizes the core of the team. Previously, that number belonged to Ansu Fati, but with his loan move to Monaco, the No. 10 was handed to Yamal, indicating the club's high hopes for him.
Another new signing in the spotlight is Marcus Rashford, who takes over the number 14 jersey, which was worn by Pablo Torre last season. Academy graduate Gerard Martín has been officially promoted to the first team, wearing number 18. Meanwhile, young midfielder Marco Bernal has also earned a spot in the first team and will wear number 22.
The complete list of numbers is:
Ter Stegen (1), Balde (3), Araujo (4), Kubalci (5), Gavi (6), Ferran (7), Pedri (8), Lewandowski (9), Lamine Yamal (10), Rafinha (11), Garcia (13), Rashford (14), Christensen (15), Firmin (16), Casado (17), Gerard Martin (18), Olmo (20), Frenkie de Jong (21), Bernal (22), Kounde (23), Eric (24), Szczesny (25), Rooney Baldeggi (28)
The three numbers that have not yet been assigned are 2, 12 and 19. As the new season approaches, Barcelona's new number allocation not only reflects the adjustments to the lineup, but also reflects the fans' expectations for new signings and young players.
