In Monday night's Championship match where Charlton drew 1-1 away to Watford, 33-year-old Charlton defender Conor Cody was hit in the head by a powerful shot during stoppage time, and fell unconscious on the spot.

After a lengthy on-field emergency treatment, Cody was secured on a stretcher and carried off the field, then rushed to a local hospital. This match marked the former England international's 500th club appearance.

Fortunately, Charlton Athletic later released a statement confirming that Cody underwent a series of brain scans, all of which showed normal results, and he was discharged from the hospital that evening.
