Wales manager Craig Bellamy says he firmly believes his team have a special moment in the making and hopes to explode in a crucial World Cup qualifier at home to Belgium.

With Belgium held to a draw by North Macedonia, Wales regained control of their chances of qualifying. A victory in Cardiff would keep their hopes of qualifying directly for the World Cup alive. In his pre-match press conference, Bellamy emphasized the importance of a positive attitude.

Bellamy said: "I always believe that good things are going to happen and I don't allow myself to think the opposite. Positivity is a strength I must have, whether it is the coaching staff, the players, or the body language. I have to show this attitude. I have experienced times when I only see the negative side, but now I choose to only see the bright side."

“These players have coped with immense pressure time and again on nights like this in Cardiff and the fans are familiar with moments like this. Almost every time we’ve won promotion in the past, we’ve done it here. It means the world to me to have led this team to this point.”

The team had just lost 0-3 to England in a friendly, a defeat captain Ben Davies described as a wake-up call, but seeing Belgium held to a draw rekindled the team's fighting spirit. Bellamy admitted that the defeat only made him more determined to improve the team.

Bellamy added: "Although the loss is disappointing, there are many lessons to be learned from the game. I see the team's potential for growth and I believe we can go further. This makes me excited."
