Bournemouth completes contract extension with Welsh international right winger David Brooks..

Bournemouth announced on their official website on Friday that they have extended the contract of its Welsh international right winger David Brooks.

According to Bournemouth's official statement, Brooks has signed on a new long-term four-year deal with the club which runs until the summer of 2029.

After completing his contract extension proceduresl, Brooks, who was interviewed by the Bournemouth official website again, said: "I'm delighted to have signed my new contract. The past seven years have been a bit of a rollercoaster, which of course had nothing to do with the club, but I've really enjoyed my time here and am looking forward to the years ahead."

"I think my highlight so far has been my Premier League debut. It's every young boy's dream, and I achieved it here. So now I want to keep going and create more memories."

About David Brooks

Brooks, 28, was born on July 8, 1997, in Warrington, England. He is 1.73 meters tall and primarily plays as a right winger, but can also play as an attacking midfielder or central midfielder. He is of Welsh descent.

Brooks joined Manchester City's youth academy at the age of seven and joined Sheffield United's youth academy in 2014. He was promoted to the first-team the following August and then loaned out to non-league club Halifax Town for two months.

After returning from his loan spell, Brooks completed his Sheffield United debut by coming on as a substitute in a EFL Trophy match in August 2016.

During his two-year spell with the Blades, Brooks' outstanding performances attracted interest from several Premier League clubs.

In July 2018, Brooks joined Bournemouth for £11.5 million.

In October 2021, Brooks was diagnosed with Stage 2 Hodgkin's lymphoma and was forced to pause his professional football career to undergo treatment. He was declared cancer-free in May of the following year.

In January 2024, Brooks was loaned-out to Southampton, where he helped the club win the EFL Championship play-offs.

Since joining the Cherries, Brooks has made 151 appearances for the Premier League club in all competitions, scoring 22 goals and providing 18 assists.
