On June 26th local time, Burnley finalized two signings in the defense position. They are 23-year-old Quirinci Hartmann and 27-year-old Axel Tuanzebe.

Quilling Hartman

Quirinci Hartmann came from Feyenoord's youth training system and made his debut for the first team in the Eredivisie on August 21, 2022. He mainly played as a left back in Feyenoord. So far, he has made 83 appearances, scored 2 goals and provided 12 assists, and won the Eredivisie championship and the Dutch Cup with the team.

According to British media, Hartmann's transfer fee is 7.7 million pounds, plus a floating clause of up to 2.55 million pounds. The two parties signed a four-year contract, which will be valid until June 30, 2029.

After completing the transfer, Hartmann said: "I feel an indescribable desire and excitement. I was extremely excited and deeply moved when I first talked to the coach. There is no doubt that he was a key factor in my decision to join."

"I'm delighted and extremely proud that this move has finally been finalised. I can't wait to get started next week."

Axel Tuanzebe

On the same day Hartmann joined Burnley, former Ipswich right-back Axel Tuanzebe also joined on a free transfer. It is reported that he has signed a one-year contract at Burnley.

Axel Tuanzebe was born in the Democratic Republic of Congo and officially joined Manchester United's youth training system in 2006. However, he only played 37 times for Manchester United's first team and was loaned to Aston Villa, Naples and Stoke City.

In September 2023, Tuanzebe joined Ipswich as a free agent. To date, he has made 44 appearances for Ipswich, scoring 1 goal and providing 2 assists.

After completing the signing, Tuanzebe said: "I am very happy to join Burnley. After speaking to the manager, the decision became very simple. His message was clear and straightforward.

“This is a new chapter for me as I return to Manchester and be close to my hometown. I am now ready to continue my professional journey at Burnley.”
