Valencia manager Carlos Colberán reviewed the team's hard-fought victory against Alaves in the post-match press conference.  

Carlos Colberán said: "We were awarded a penalty at the very beginning of the game, before everything was calm. This happens in many games; even slight contact in the penalty area can result in a penalty, regardless of whether it benefits the attacking side."  

“We need to assess whether this contact was related to an offensive action and whether it actually stopped the opponent’s attack. The referee and the Video Assistant Referee (VAR) determined that it was. The game had only just begun, and we were already behind.”  

"It's certainly difficult to deal with falling behind at the start, as it can easily make the team impatient and affect their control of the game. However, I saw the team make quick adjustments, sometimes performing at the expected level, but sometimes getting too impatient due to falling behind and launching unnecessary attacks. In fact, we shouldn't have fallen behind at halftime."  

"After the start of the second half, the team maintained its determination and successfully scored a goal. I think we were fully capable of turning the game around completely until the 60th minute. However, it is a pity that we conceded a goal from a corner kick in a game in which we dominated. Although we have performed well in defending corner kicks recently, we failed to hold on to our advantage today."  

"That moment was indeed a heavy blow because it made us impatient and lose control of the game. Once out of control, the game could have completely spiraled out of control. However, the team gave it their all, demonstrating their belief and dedication to the goal. Winning those three points was crucial for us. It was thanks to the efforts of the whole team, including contributions from both the substitutes and the starters, that we finally tied the score and secured the victory."
