Valencia head coach Carlos Colberán held a press conference after the 1-1 draw with Rayo Vallecano.  

Carlos Colberán stated, "I don't agree with downplaying the attack that led to the goal; every goal is crucial. Rayo Vallecano played better in the first half, but when we had possession, we couldn't pose a real threat to them, and we struggled to execute our attacks and defenses smoothly."  

"The opponent created many opportunities through crosses from the left wing and corner kicks, and our defensive mistakes allowed them to take the lead. They are a difficult team to beat, even the La Liga giants are not easy to defeat. I cannot deny that the team performed very well in the second half. In the end, we scored a goal, and the whole team never gave up on winning, which is why we won three points."  

“Rayo Vallecano is a very physically strong team, and their values allow them to compete in two competitions simultaneously at a high intensity. In European competitions, you have to be prepared to compete on multiple fronts. The three-game unbeaten run is certainly commendable, but we still crave victory. We need to reflect on why we didn’t perform well in the first half, and at the same time learn from the fighting spirit and positive attitude we showed in the second half.”  

“I’m not sure if we’re the worst away team in the league; I have my doubts. We’re not happy with our current away record because we haven’t won yet. The red card affected us against Osasuna, but we still managed to equalize on the counter-attack. Our performances against Barcelona and Real Madrid were also below expectations.”  

“We have encountered similar situations when facing other opponents. We hope to improve this situation and make progress both at home and away. We will analyze the game carefully, with the goal of playing better. Our performance in the first half was not as expected, and we failed to show the style that the team should have, so we are not satisfied. The team is full of ambition, will not be complacent, and always hopes to continue to improve.”  

Speaking about Dani Laba, Carlos Colberán said: "He is a very interesting player. Today we decided to play our number 10, André Almeida, on the left wing because he is right-footed, and we wanted to make the game more dynamic. I think he played very well in the second half, and we didn't want to substitute him. In the end, we kept Danjuma and Beltran on the pitch, and the team functioned very well in the second half."  

"This is not to say that the players who did not play did not contribute, but rather to emphasize the excellent teamwork between the players who did play. We are very happy with Danny Laba's outstanding performance as a substitute and hope he can come on earlier."
