England will face Latvia in a crucial match in Group K of the 2026 World Cup European qualifiers. England coach Thomas Tuchel has confirmed that captain Harry Kane's injury is over and he is fit to play.

Bayern Munich striker Kane scored a goal in last week's Bundesliga match against Eintracht Frankfurt, but suffered an injury afterwards and therefore did not play in England's friendly win over Wales.

England manager Tuchel said at a press conference, "The matter with Kane was simple. He can play and is in good shape, and we have made the right decision."

"Kane has been training very well and is fully prepared. I don't see any reason why he can't play the full 90 minutes. He's only had a short break and he played every game for Bayern Munich, so I don't see any obstacles."

After winning five consecutive games, England currently ranks first in Group K with 15 points, which means that England must win another three points to get closer to the World Cup finals.

Tuchel continued, "Unfortunately, Watkins left the training camp. His injury was too painful and he could not continue training with the team. He is currently receiving treatment at the club and working hard to prepare for the weekend game. Apart from that, all other players can play."
