Nottingham Forest announced on Tuesday that Angel Postecoglou has been appointed first-team manager, replacing Nuno Espirito Santo. The two sides have signed a two-year contract, valid until June 30, 2027.
The 60-year-old Postecoglou is from Australia and has coached many teams, including South Melbourne, Pan-Asia Gaya, Morandi Zebras, Brisbane Roar, Melbourne Victory, Australia, Yokohama F. Marinos, Celtic, and Tottenham Hotspur. His greatest achievement was leading Tottenham to win the 2024/25 Europa League in May this year, but he was fired the following month.
Commenting on Postecoglou’s arrival, Nottingham Forest owner Evangelos Marinakis said: “We have brought a proven, championship-winning manager to the club. With his extensive experience managing top teams and his desire to create something extraordinary with us at Nottingham Forest, he will be the ideal person to lead us forward and achieve all our goals.”
“After securing promotion to the Premier League, we have steadily built ourselves up season after season, ultimately securing European qualification. Now we must take the right steps to compete against the top teams and challenge for titles. Angie has the qualifications and experience to achieve this, and we are delighted to have him join us on what will be an ambitious journey.”
