Bayern Munich officially announced on Wednesday that they have loaned Bryan Zaragoza to Celta Vigo for a season. Celta will pay Bayern a €1 million loan fee, with an option to buy him out for €12 million next summer.

Bayern's sporting director Max Eberl explained the decision to loan out Zaragoza: "Unfortunately, Brian was plagued by injuries last season. We all agreed that the best way forward for him was to return to his native Spain and continue to gain experience. Getting regular playing time with a La Liga team that is about to compete in the Europa League will help him realize his dream of representing the Spanish national team at the World Cup."

According to German media reports, if Zaragoza can help Celta finish 11th to 13th in La Liga next season with a 70% attendance rate, the buyout clause will be enforced. If so, Zaragoza will sign Celta until June 30, 2030.

The 23-year-old Zaragoza primarily plays as a left winger, but can also play in a variety of positions, including attacking midfielder and right wing. He came through the Granada youth academy and made his first-team debut in the Copa del Rey on November 30, 2021.

In February 2024, Zaragoza transferred to Bayern Munich for €15 million plus €4.5 million in compensation. However, he made only seven appearances in six months, including one start. Seeking more playing time, Zaragoza loaned him to Osasuna in August of that year. To date, he has made 28 appearances for Osasuna, scoring one goal and providing six assists.

Zaragoza couldn't hide his joy at the Celta move. He said on social media: "Celta fans...it's been a long wait, but I can finally make my official debut in front of you."
