Former Leeds United England international forward Patrick Bamford officially joins Sheffield United on a free transfer..

Sheffield United announced on their official website on Monday that former Leeds United England international forward Patrick Bamford has joined the club on a free transfer after his contract had expired.

According to the EFL Championship club's official statement, Bamford has only signed on a short-term one-and-a-half-month deal which will only run until January 1, 2026.

About Patrick Bamford

The 32-year-old Patrick Bamford was born on September 5, 1993, in Grantham, England. He is 1.85 meters tall and primarily plays as a center forward, but can also play as a left winger or right winger. He has Irish ancestry.

Bamford joined Nottingham Forest's youth academy at the age of eight and completed his Nottingham Forest first-team debut by coming on as a substitute at the end of December 2011.

On the deadline day of the following year's winter transfer window, Bamford joined Chelsea for £1.5 million.

However, like many young Chelsea players, Bamford never had the chance to make a first-team appearance during his four-and-a-half-year spell with the Blues, instead spending much of his time out on-loan.

He successively played on-loan at Milton Keynes (twice), Derby County, Middlesbrough, Norwich City, and Burnley, but his goal-scoring efficiency was inconsistent.

In January 2017, Bamford returned to Middlesbrough for £5.5 million.

During his time there, he helped the club reach the EFL Championship play-off semi-finals with impressive performances.

The following July, Bamford joined Leeds United for £7 million, briefly becoming Leeds United's most expensive forward since former Liverpool legend Robbie Fowler.

During his seven-year spell with the newly promoted Premier League side, Bamford made 205 appearances in all competitions, scoring 60 goals and providing 25 assists, where he has won the EFL Championship twice with the club and earned his first and only chance to represent England in September 2021 thanks to his outstanding performances.
