Daniel Falk aims for all 3 points in home game against Sunderland

Leeds United will host fellow newly promoted Sunderland at Elland Road in the 29th round of the 2025/26 Premier League season. Manager Daniel Falk stated in a press conference that his team will gain more confidence from past matches and will continue to aim for three points.

In their last key match, Leeds United conceded a goal to Semenho in the first half but failed to find the net in the second half, ultimately losing 0-1 to Guardiola's Manchester City. After a run of 1 win, 2 draws, and 2 losses in their last 5 matches, Leeds United currently sit 15th in the standings with 31 points, still with a chance to avoid relegation.

Sunderland, the "Black Cats," drew 1-1 with Bournemouth in their last Premier League match after a goal from Eliecel Mayanda. Lebrs' team currently sits in 12th place with 37 points, having won one, drawn one, and lost three of their last five games.

As for their first encounter this season, Leeds United managed to draw 1-1 with Sunderland after trailing, thanks to a goal from Calvert-Lewin.

Leeds United manager Daniel Falk said, "When we played them away before, they beat almost every opponent at home, but we ended up with a draw, which is a good result in terms of outcome."

“I expect this to be a close and difficult Premier League match, and at this level, every game is tough. They have been outstanding this season and are in a very good position right now. But that won’t dampen our motivation; we are equally eager to deliver another excellent performance and get as many points as possible.”

Speaking about the previous match against Manchester City, Daniel Falk said, "I think a draw would have been a fairer result. We gave it our all, but their defense was also excellent. I think our players performed at a top level against top opponents, and we can gain more confidence from that."

“But this is a new day and a new opponent, and we have great respect for Sunderland. We know how difficult it is to beat a team like this, and we expect it to be another closely contested game. However, we are playing at home, so of course we hope to get the three points.”

When asked about the team's roster status, Daniel Falk said, "Joe Rodon had some hamstring issues; initially, it wasn't clear whether it was a cramp or a minor strain. We had him scanned, and so far, it looks fine. Based on the current situation, I expect him to be able to play tomorrow."

"The only variable now is James Justin, because he was kicked in the back by an opponent. He needed stitches after the game and bled a lot. But he's a tough guy, and I hope he can make it to tomorrow's game. So for now, only Noah Okafor will be out of the game, and the rest of the players are available."
