David Moyes was slightly disappointed with the result, but also admitted that Newcastle United's performance was outstanding.

David Moyes stated that the team's home defeat to Newcastle United once again demonstrates that Everton still has a lot of work to do and must continue to strive to reach the required level of performance. The 1-4 loss was undoubtedly a major disappointment for Moyes' team.

Everton conceded a goal less than a minute into the game and were unable to equalize. Newcastle United defender Malik Thiamé scored twice, while Lewis Milley and Nick Waltmead also found the net. With about 20 minutes remaining, Kiernan Dieusbury-Hall scored a brilliant consolation goal.

In his post-match review, David Moyes generously praised his opponents, believing that Newcastle United had fully demonstrated why they were leading the qualification race. He stated, "I can certainly discuss our own problems, but Newcastle United played exceptionally well. We didn't play well, and that was one of the reasons for our defeat."

"Obviously, I am disappointed with the result and the team's performance. The start was very poor, but it was by no means what we intended. I must admit that Newcastle United played brilliantly and were clearly superior to us overall."

“We beat them at St. James’ Park at the end of last season, but Newcastle United are really different now. They know how to defend and then quickly score on the counter-attack. I think they are stronger than any of the two teams we have faced recently, and their players are very experienced and talented.”

"They have the ability to rotate their squad, and their wingers are very fast. They have invested heavily in the center forward position, their defense is solid, and their midfielders are equally outstanding."

Everton will strive to quickly regain their form ahead of their next away game against Bournemouth. David Moyes stated that this match provides the team with an opportunity to rediscover the performances they displayed in their victories against Fulham and Manchester United.

David Moyes said: "There are always new opportunities in football, and we have taken our chances in the last three games, which I think were all very difficult. Now we have won two, and I hope to continue winning, but we still have a long way to go to challenge a strong team like Newcastle United."

"This is the level we must strive to reach. However, our squad was limited in this match. With several players injured or suspended, the available players were very limited, making it difficult to make adjustments to the lineup."
