In the 6th round of the 2025-26 La Liga season, Real Madrid defeated Levante 4-1, and the 18-year-old Franco Mastantono ushered in his own highlight moment.

The young striker scored his first goal for Real Madrid at the Mestalla Stadium, the same day that legendary star Alfredo Di Stefano scored his first goal for Real Madrid 72 years ago.

After the game, Mastantono could not hide his excitement in an interview with Real Madrid TV: "When they told me this coincidence after I scored, I couldn't believe it. I am very proud to be connected with Di Stefano on this day."

"Of course, I wouldn't compare myself to such a great player, but details like this are really beautiful. It's a special feeling and an incredible moment. I've been waiting for this night for a long time, and luckily it finally happened. The team also won, which makes me even happier."

When talking about the goal process, Mastantono attributed the credit to his teammate Vinicius: "Vinny did a great job when the attack started. He passed the ball to the other side and found me. Fortunately, I seized the opportunity this time."

"The coach asked me to play on the right wing and cut inside more often to form combinations with my teammates. At the same time, I have to be brave enough to challenge the defenders and make contributions on the defensive end. He has a lot of demands on me, and I feel good and motivated. I hope to help the team continue to win and get more playing time."

Despite his young age, Mastantono displays a calmness beyond his years: "I'm very relaxed. It's a dream come true to play here. I try to take it as it comes naturally, even though it's not easy.
