Gary Rowett stated that the team's roster will remain unchanged, but he still hopes the players can return to play as soon as possible.

Gary Rowett expects no changes to the squad for Saturday's away game against Stoke City. This match will mark Rowett's first time leading Leicester City in the Sky Sports Champions League.

At a pre-match press conference held at Leicester City Football Club's training ground on Thursday, the 51-year-old coach said that several players are currently unavailable for the match and are not expected to travel with the team to Staffordshire for the game.

Jamal Lascelles, who joined in January, missed last weekend's FA Cup defeat to Southampton, while another centre-back, Yannick Westergaard, has been sidelined since the home loss to Oxford United on January 24.

Gary Rowett said: "The most important thing now is to hope that the players can return as soon as possible. I don't think there will be much change in the lineup from the previous games. We are slightly short-handed in some positions, but relatively full in others."

“We must give our all in the next few games, and at the same time, we hope to reduce injuries so that the squad will be more complete and experienced. The squad may remain the same for the next week or two. There are some very good players in the team, and I look forward to seeing their performance.”

Jordan James missed the last five games due to injury, but his recovery is progressing well. Bobby de Cordova-Reid will serve the final game of his three-game suspension following a red card in the match against Birmingham City, while Joe Arribo will regain his eligibility after missing the game against his former club.

Gary Rowett added, "Jordan James is one of them. I don't like to set specific timelines for players' comebacks, but if you look at the players who might be playing, hopefully one or two of them will be closer to returning."

“But the Championship is very fast-paced. If a player has just returned from injury and played one game, they may soon have to play three games in a week, and they may not have had many opportunities to play before. This is a challenge for team management, but it is not unfamiliar to me.”
